Cortland says that C16 represents the most advanced braided Spectra trolling line available for blue-water fishing today. Braided from 16 carriers of gel-spun polyethylene (Spectra) fiber for an extremely high strength-to-diameter ratio, the new C16 features a tight, round braid and uniform pick count (wraps per inch) that won't flatten out or dig into the spool. The special hollow-braid construction allows for easy splicing of end loops or monofilament leaders, with almost no loss of line strength between the braid and top shot.

Woven in Cortland, New York, the C16 Superbraid is treated with Cortland's proprietary FiberTech superbraid protection, which enhances the line's durability and reduces friction in the guides. Unlike most Spectra coatings, which flake or wear off, FiberTech penetrates the entire braid to ensure the line is completely treated, inside and out. C16 comes in bulk spools of 600, 1,200 and 2,500 yards in 80-, 100-, 130- and 200-pound-test.
